Malcesine, "the pearl
of the lake", lies at the feet of Monte Baldo and looks
out on that stupendous "effect of Nature" that is Lake
Garda.
The imposing mass of the Scaliger Castle, dating from
1500, dominates the historic center of the town. Our
attention goes to the elegant Palazzo dei Capitani as we
walk through the narrow streets of the ancient Medieval
burg.

|
Malcesine looks both down on
the lake and up towards Monte Baldo, 1850 meters
high. A modern aerial cableway gives a quick connection
between the lakeside and the mountain highlands. |
|
Malcesine's holiday offerings
can answer everyone's desires: in addition to typical
lake activities (swimming, sailing, windsurfing, water
skiing, etc.) the cableway gives guests the opportunity of
practising many sports among the wildflowers of Monte
Baldo, called "The Garden of Europe" (mountain
bike tours, paragliding, trekking, etc.).

Relatively short trips offer day visits to the main art
cities of northern Italy (Verona, Brescia, Bergamo,
Mantua, Milan, Padua, Vicenza, Venice …).

|
The Arena of
Verona opera season, lasting from the end of June to
the beginning of September, and the recently opened
Mart (museum of modern art in Rovereto) complete these
cultural offerings. |
